Great Clips relaunches cosmetology student scholarship program
The 2021 Great Scholarship Program will now offer scholarships valued at up to $5,000
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (January 18, 2021) — Cosmetology students across the U.S. and Canada can now apply for the 2021 Great Scholarship Program from Great Clips, Inc. The program offers up to $5,000 in tuition reimbursement to students pursuing education in cosmetology.
This year’s launch reflects a reinvention of the program. In recent years, the Great Scholarship Program awarded over 1,000 students with scholarships or cosmetology toolkits valued between $250 and $1,500. This year, Great Clips, Inc. will award up to 22 scholarships to cosmetology students each valued at up to $5,000—a total of up to $110,000 in scholarship awards.
“Great Clips, Inc. and our leaders have provided scholarships to cosmetology students for decades, but the past year has shown us—along with our franchisees—how crucial a strong pipeline of talent is to the salon industry,” said Jared Nypen, vice president of talent for Great Clips, Inc. “As a result, we decided to make a more significant investment in this scholarship program to help ensure that deserving students can make their cosmetology career dreams a reality.”
The Great Scholarship Program is open to high school and post-high school individuals who are enrolled in a cosmetology program in the U.S. or Canada. Applications opened on January 15, 2021. Eligible cosmetology students can apply by going to greatclipscareers.com/scholarships, which has a complete list of the applicable terms and conditions available, or by texting SCHOLARSHIP to 98765. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis throughout the 2021 calendar year.
